He was a member of Cowboy Church of Lafayette.
His father, George Derrick Darby, Sr. and brother Derrick Darby, Jr. preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife of 22 years, Lynne Darby; two daughters, Kristi Darby and Kaitlyn Darby of Ringgold; two sons, Preston Nelson of Spartanburg, and Chase Darby of Ringgold; mother, Martha Jo Darby of Chattanooga; sister Rieca (Danny) Rousseau of Chattanooga; sister-in-law, Sharon Darby of Marble Hill, Georgia; brother-in-law, David (Susan) Bates; sister-in-law, Susan McMillan of Spartanburg; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Friday, September 21, 2012 from 5-7 p.m. at the East Brainerd Chapel with a memorial service to follow at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. J. C. Groves and Rev. Randy Harden officiating.
