Eva Ruth Longley

Eva Ruth Longley, 96, of Apison, Tennessee, passed away Monday, November 7, 2011.

She was the daughter of the late John and Myrtle Wilson and was preceded in death by two brothers, Cecil and James Wilson and two sisters, Edith Wilson Garner and Louise Wilson Thaxton.

Ruth has been a member of Apison Baptist Church since 1936 and has served as Sunday School Secretary since 1969. She was a member of the choir for 70 years.

She retired from 3M Company after 27 years of service.

Survivors include her son, Gene (Kay) Longley, of Apison, TN, two grandsons, Gregg Longley, of Chattanooga, TN, Keith (Paula) Longley, of Rock Spring, GA, granddaughter, Traci Longley (Michael) Westfelt, of Acworth, GA, four great grandchildren, Claire Longley, Hunter Longley, Hayden Longley, Collin Westfelt, sister, Mary Bell (Lee) Howell, of Apison, TN, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m., Wednesday in the East Brainerd Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Rev. Bob Dasal officiating. Interment will be in Plowman Cemetery in Apison, TN. Gregg Longley, Keith Longley, Randy Bell, Mike Goodman, Marty Whittle and Bill Hullander will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home.
