Gary Lee Griffin, age 72, of Chattanooga, Tennessee passed away on Saturday May 7, 2022. Gary was born May 30, 1949. He was a 30 year resident of Chattanooga.
He is retiree from the state of Florida Law Enforcement.
Gary was a lifelong fan of FSU Seminoles and the Atlanta Braves. But first and foremost he was a child of God, and a devoted husband.
He was preceded in death by his father, Benjamin R. Griffin, Jr.
Gary is survived by his devoted wife of 30 plus years, Janis M. Griffin of Chattanooga; mother, Martha Louella Griffin of Cleveland, TN; 4 daughters, Ronda Ellison (Jody) of Live Oak, FL, Dana Johnson (Jason) of St. Augustine, FL, Leigh Humkey (Chris) of Ringgold, GA and Lori Brown (Harold) of Hixson, TN; 6 grandchildren, Emily Dann (Robert), Benjamin Humkey (Samantha), Jacob Ellison, Zoe Ellison, and Payton and Taylor Johnson.
Services will take place at The Village of Ashwood Clubhouse, 2400 Baskette Way, Chattanooga, TN 37421, at 1:30 pm Sunday, May 15, 2022, with Pastor Tony Walliser officiating.
In Lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Silverdale Baptist Church Building Fund.
