CHATTANOOGA – James E Bartlett, 79, passed peacefully on Saturday, July 30, 2016. He was born in Atlanta, GA to the late D.C. & Myrle Bartlett and grew up in Albertville, AL. He was a graduate of Albertville High School and was later inducted into the Marshall County Hall of Fame for his achievements in football. He later played football for and graduated from The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga where he was a member of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity. He was a loving husband and best friend to his late wife, Celia K Bartlett, and devoted father to his surviving children. They are Kristin K Cousins, James Robert Bartlett and Richard Lane Kelly, Jr; grandchildren are Ashton Spencer, Parker Bartlett and Mia Cousins. He was a devout Christian and member of City Church of Chattanooga.
The family will receive friends at Advantage Funeral Home on McCallie Ave on Wednesday, August 3, 4:00-6:00 pm followed by a memorial service at 6:30 pm.
