James Daniel Stoneback

He was born in May 8, 1978 in Christiansted, St. Croix, U.S.V.I.

James’ passion was his nieces and nephews. He was an avid animal lover and outdoorsman who enjoyed camping and kayaking among may other nature activities.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Melissa Joy Stoneback, his grandparents and other loved ones.

Survivors include his parents, Judy & David Smith of Harrison, Tennessee; siblings, Christine (John) Brown of Ringgold, Adam Smith of Harrison, Ashley Smith of Ooltewah, Audrey Smith of Sevierville, Tennessee, Dustin Stoneback of California, Katrina Stoneback of California, Shandel Stoneback-Dietz of Pennsylvania and several other half-siblings; nieces and nephews, Austin, Sam, Katie, Lily, Rachel, Joshua, Caleb, Owen, and Zoie; many other friends and family; and his beloved pets, M. J. Gabby, & Oreo.

Memorial services will be held Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. in the East Brainerd Chapel with Dr. David Pinkard officiating. Following the service, James will be laid to rest in Smith Family Cemetery in Del Rio, Tennessee.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Nieces & Nephews Scholarship Fund.
