He was preceded in death by his parents Jesse and Mary Johnson Whitlock; sisters, Darlene Quails and Peggy Johnson; and mother-in-law, Elizabeth Mercer who was like a mother to him.
Those Jess leaves behind to cherish his precious memories are his loving wife of almost 30 years, Martha Mercer Whitlock; brothers, David Whitlock and Rick Oxford; and sister, Janice Hartman; nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.
A Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 13, 2021 from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Christ United Methodist Church, main sanctuary, 8645 E. Brainerd Rd, Chattanooga, TN 37421.
A Celebration of Life Service will immediately follow at 3:00 pm.
