He was a former employee of Wheland Foundry and Ridgedale Baptist Church.
John was a member of the World Church of the Living God. He loved walking, talking to his friends and sports, especially his beloved Cowboys! John enjoyed the Andy Griffith Show and he loved plants and flowers; he also took great pride in taking care of his massive aquarium and pet fish. His sister Janice stated that he was the number one brother and reminisced on how they constantly teased each other in good fun!
He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army.
John was preceded in death by his father, John Harris; mother, Evelyn Ryals; brother, Dennis Ryals; and sister, Bobbie Ryals.
