John Thomas Sanders 84, of the Whiteside community passed away on Saturday, October 11, 2014 at his residence.
John was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in Korea, was employed by Sears and White Westinghouse as an appliance repairman, and was a member of Whiteside Church of God.
He loved fishing, ginseng digging, going to yard sales, but most importantly he was a loving father and grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years Peggy Ann Keef Sanders and son Kenneth Wayne Sanders, parents Burton Sanders and Azee Hicks Sanders; brothers Buford Sanders, Webster Sanders and Paul Sanders.
Survivors include his daughters Karen Sanders Gore and Christy Sanders Phillips; grandchildren: Brent Farmer, Candy(JJ) Pangel, Whitney(Jackie)Ross, Alicia and Micah Phillips; great grandchildren Alex, Isaac, Jocelynn, Harmony and Willow; several nieces, nephews and cousins
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 14, 2014 in the Advantage Chapel with Rev. Randy Tinker and Rev. John Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Hooker Cemetery.
