January 29, 1957 – July 25, 2025
Kimberly Jean (Louden) Johnson, born January 29, 1957, in Bowling Green, Kentucky, passed away in the early morning on July 25. She was the beloved daughter of the late Elzie and Linda Louden and was preceded in death by her brother, Ronnie Louden.
Kim’s life was defined by resilience, strength, and a deep love for her family. She was the proud mother of five — Jenny and David Brandle of Owensboro KY; Chris Johnson of Ringgold, GA; Beth Johnson of Cohutta, GA; Tootie and Brad Maddox of Calhoun, TN; and Hannah and Terry Waldron of Chickamauga, GA.
Her greatest joy and accomplishment in life was being “Mimi” to her cherished grandchildren: Keely Johnson, Kaiden Johnson, Cole Brandle, Ryann Waldron, Scout Maddox, and Chewy Johnson, affectionately known as “that damn dog”. Her love for them was boundless, and she took great pride in being a constant, supportive presence in their lives.
Kim grew up in Kentucky with a love for the outdoors and a fierce spirit that led her to barrel racing in rodeos — a passion that not only shaped her early years but also led her to meet her former husband, with whom she later moved to Georgia to start a family.
She is survived by her siblings: Delana Louden of Florence KY, Kelt Louden of Cottontown, TN, and Barbra and Fred Walters of Portland, TN; sister-in-law Teresa and JJ Wengert and brother-in-law Rick and Sandra Johnson, both of Ringgold, GA, and several nieces and nephews.
Kim was a hardworking, hands-on woman—equally at home mowing the yard or changing the oil in a car. She found peace outdoors and joy in a job well done. She was proud of her work at the Catoosa County Detention Center, where she brought dedication and compassion to her role as a Corrections Officer.
Above all else, Kim lived for her children and grandchildren. She was often a little too nosey—but always out of love and concern. Her good intentions and support were constants in her family’s lives, and her legacy of love and grit will live on through them.
She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
