Margaret Louise Hurd

Margaret Hurd of Chattanooga, TN transition this life on October 27, 2021, in Indianapolis, Indiana at the resident of her devoted daughter, Son-In-Law and caretakers, Rachel Hurd McIntyre and Eddie McIntyre. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry C. Hurd, Sr., and Willie Mae Boyd Hurd; her daughters, Beverly Parks Goodwin and Mary Alice Hurd; siblings, Juanita Hurd Parks, Harry Hurd, Jr., Robert Hurd, Sr. and Dennis Hurd, Sr.; as well as a favorite aunt, Rachel Boyd Sawyer.

Margaret was a member of New Emmanuel Missionary Baptist Church where she worshipped and praised the Lord and served with the Virtuous Women of Excellence Ministry.

When Margaret begun to have challenges with her health, she moved to Indianapolis, Indiana to live with her daughter, Rachel and her husband Eddie, so that they along with her granddaughters could help take care of her.

Margaret Hurd was the oldest living Boyd Family member of the Boyd Family Reunion established in 1973 to honor her grandparents (Luke and Bessie Boyd) and continue to pass the torch along to the Boyd posterity. At many family reunions, Margaret would sing songs of praises to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We will miss Margaret greatly but have many memories stored within our hearts that will forever link us to her.

Left to cherish these memories are her partner in life Ernest McReynolds; devoted daughter and Son-In-Law, Rachel and Eddie McIntyre; son, Edward McNair; Sister-In-laws, Lois Hall Hurd and Lillie Mae Walker Hurd; her 9 grandchildren; 41 great grandchildren; 7 great, great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and church members.

A Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 6, 2021 from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at the Advantage Funeral & Cremation Services – Franklin-Strickland Chapel.

Funeral Services will immediately follow at 12:00 pm.

Burial will be in Forest Hills Cemetery.
