Melvin Freeman

Melvin Freeman, born on May 31, 1957, son of the late Moses and Essie Belle Freeman, was called to eternal rest on Sunday, December 7, 2025, at the age of 68. He was a resident of Chattanooga, Tennessee.

He joined Second Missionary Baptist Church at an early age and was baptized under the pastorate of the late Rev. Martin H. Ribbins.

Melvin graduated from Brainerd High School, class of 1975. He attended Tennessee State University.

Melvin was preceded in death by his parents, Moses Freeman, Sr and Essie Belle Burton Freeman; brothers, Moses Jr., Howard, Charles and Rev. Robert Freeman.

Surviving and cherishing his precious memories are his daughter, Kesha Freeman; sister, Gloria Freeman; nephew, Eric Freeman of Shawnee, OK; nieces, Robin Freeman of Marietta, GA. and Tanyea Freeman of Los Angeles, CA; sisters-in-law, Louise Freeman and Mildred Freeman of Chattanooga, TN; best friends, Stephen 'Scooter' King, Douglas Daugherty and Marie Jackson; other relatives and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Advantage Funeral & Cremation Services - Franklin Strickland Chapel, located at 1724 McCallie Ave, Chattanooga, TN, 37404, United States. The service is scheduled for Saturday, December 13, 2025, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
