Mildred Alice Brooks

Mildred was born in Chattanooga, TN to the late Lawrence and Amanda Mahaffey. Her grandson, Tommy James Fowler; and siblings, Betty Cothran, Ruth King, Tommy Mahaffey, Delores Sullivan and Ophelia Russell preceded her in death.

Mildred was of the Baptist faith. She was a homemaker and also worked in the medical profession as a caretaker for the elderly for many years. She loved animals, especially birds. She was a loving mother, grandmother and friend and she will be greatly missed.

Survivors include her children, Peggy Fowler, Michael (Lora) Brooks, Tommy Brooks, David (Linda) Brooks; grandchildren, Brian Fowler, Tonya (Matthew) Sadler, Vance Brooks, Haleigh (Christian) Delia, Jillian Brooks, Madison Brooks; sister, Jean (Johnny) Russell, brothers, Billy (Pat) Norman, Ronnie Norman; her loyal companion, Mandy and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to say a special thanks to Hearth Hospice and especially to Leona White, Felicia Lewis, and Kimberly Cole for all the love and care they gave to Mildred.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Sunday, June 15, 2025 in the East Brainerd Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home. A reception will follow at Peggy's home after visitation.

A private burial with family will be held at a later date.
