My memory of Nanette (Nan) as we called her, at 510 Arlington Ave. resident. Nan was loving and loved dearly by all her staff members, especially Dee and myself, Nan had all of us in the palms of her little hands. Nan will be dearly miss by all of the hearts she touched. At Revelation21:4,God said he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away. We all look forward to this day. We send our condolences to the Slaten family.

My Deepest Sympathy to The Slaten Family.
I have had the pleasure of working with Nan for the last 17yrs and have so many fun memories with her. From traveling vacations to Dolly Wood Theme Parks in Gatlinburg to Orlando Florida Beaches. Nan never allowed her disability to stop her from going and living her best life. Nan was so sweet, yet fiesty and wouldn't have it any other way. I remember us going to the beach, I was so afraid of the water. So I thought, I will get Nan. ( My Excuse To Not Get In The Water). Low and behold Nan seen that water and fought me till we both ended up in the ocean. ( She help me with my fears of water). She was non verbal but, knew how to communicate with staff. She would get right in you face , look you in your eyes, gentle grab your hands, and would lead you to what ever she wanted. (Tea. MILK, Corn Chips, Pop corn, or a slice of bread). Once she get what she wanted, she would give you that captivating smile, that would brighten your day. Well never Goodbye, just See You Later. So Sleep On Nanny Till We Meet Again. ❤ This is the last picture we took of Nan in December 2020.

Nan had her own special way of sharing joy as she sat at the front door of her home on Sweet Street. Even as a child I could see it. And what a loving family God blessed her with. My love to you all. Polly

I have fond memories of playing with Nan when we were children. I remember playing in the pool in the back yard and playing on the swing.
She was so well loved by all of her family. I remember her grandmother being there a lot when we were playing.

She did love to go on car rides. Since we lived across the street we could see the car as they were helping her to get in. One day she would not get in. It took just a minute for Mrs. Slaten and her mom to figure out that the seat was hot and Nan did not want to get in because of that.

Even though Nan did not communicate by talking, her family always knew what she was telling them. Mr. and Mrs. Slaten, you truly were Godly parents who loved Nan with all your heart. Ed and Debra you were the best big brother and sister to her.

You are in my thoughts and prayers.
