She was born April 29, 1939 in Narvacan Ilocos Sur, Philippines to the late Dionisio Soriano and Martina Cabero.
Mrs. Cabrera was a retired Nursing Professor at Indiana University and also Associate Professor of Nursing at Marian College in Indianapolis, IN. She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and choir in Cocoa, FL.
Her husband, Dominador Cabrera preceded her in death.
Survivors include her children, Irene (Marco) Salenda of Chattanooga; Rene (Kelly) Cabrera of Springfield, IL; Edgardo (Julia) Cabrera of Batavia, IL; sister, Erlinda Soriano West of Markham Ontario Canada; grandchildren, Carlo Salenda, Caleb Salenda, Scott Cabrera, and Elena Cabrera; and nephews, Ronald (Giang) West and Alan (Ramona) West; great nieces, Madison, Ashleigh, Tiffany, Ayanna West; and great nephew, Aidan West.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, March 5, 2024 from 10-11 a.m. (EST) at St. Stephen Catholic Church (7111 Lee Hwy., Chattanooga, TN 37421). Funeral mass will follow at 11:00 a.m. (EST) with Father Manuel Perez officiating.
An additional visitation will be held Saturday, March 9, 2024 from 9-10 a.m. (CST) at Blake-Lamb Funeral (5015 Lincoln Ave., Lisle, IL 60532).
Mrs. Cabrera will be laid to rest at Assumption Catholic Cemetery (1 S. 510 Winfield Rd., Wheaton, IL 60189) on Saturday, March 9, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. (CST).
