Viola Elizabeth Eady

Viola Elizabeth “Fronie” Eady, born on Monday, October 28, 1940, in Chattanooga, TN, passed away in her sleep on Wednesday, May 31, 2023. During her illness and final years, she was cared for by her family, attentively by her daughter Cynthia and granddaughter Nakeda.

Well known as Fronie by family and close friends, she was educated in Chattanooga public school system. After graduating from Howard High School, Viola continued her education at Cleveland State College until she earned her License Practical Nurse degree. During the healthy years of her life, she was a foster mother to several children in Cincinnati, OH, and Chattanooga, TN.

Viola is predeceased by husband, Martin L. Eady; parents, Claude Lee (Josephine Jones) Davis; grandparents, William (Gussie Beck) Jones; granddaughter, Tondellina Burrell; brother, Ronnie Davis; aunt, Mary F. Jones-Fleming; and uncles, John Henry Jones, Edward Jones, Sr., and William Jones, Jr.

Viola’s survivors include daughters, Angela G. Burrell of Atlanta, GA, and Cynthia D. Eady of Chattanooga, TN; son, Delta L. Eady of Atlanta, GA; brother, Claude L. Davis, Jr., of Chattanooga, TN; sisters, Virginia L. Butts and Robbie Davis-Craft of Chattanooga, TN, and Merle, JoAnne, and Claudette Davis of Cincinnati, OH; granddaughters, Nakeda Eady of Atlanta, GA, Cashara White of Powder Spring, GA, and Jasmine Brooks (Jermaine) McWhorter of Chattanooga, TN; grandsons, Darrell Burks of Birmingham, AL, and Marcell Hawthorne, Jr., of Atlanta, GA; great granddaughters, Nicoyia Baxter, Camari Shepherd, Wynter Cook, Justice McWhorter, Jacell Hawthorne, and Kashlynn Hawthorne; great grandsons, Braedan Burks, Marcellus Hawthorne, Karter Hawthorne, LaMarcus Hawthorne, Jaden McWhorter, Brodee Burks, and Jerran McWhorter; great great-grandson, Tyrone Adlia Robinson, IV; adopted daughter, Angel N. Eady; Brother-in-law, Kenneth Eady of California, others to miss Viola are Janice Curry and Benny Kerkly (close friends) of Cincinnati, OH, extended family, and her favorite pets, Ruffles and Levi.

A memorial service to celebrate Viola’s life will be held on Saturday, June 10, 2023, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Advantage Funeral & Cremation Services-Franklin-Strickland Chapel, 724 McCallie Avenue, Chattanooga, TN 37404.
