Dave Sterlekar

Beloved husband of Marlene (nee Oberstar); loving father of Sherry Parker (Jim), Cindy Knapp (Mark), Davey (Kim), Steven (deceased), and Crissy Turk (Bill); grandfather of Amanda (Adam), Trent, Taylor, Abbey, Anthony, Sammy, Stevie, Connor, and Grayce; great grandfather of Blake; and brother of Susan Tegel (AI) and Sandy Johnson (Don). Preceded in death by his parents Stanley and Esther Sterlekar.

Dave attended St. Joseph H.S., University of Dayton (B.S in education), and John Carroll University (M. A. in education Guidance and Administration). He was co-captain at St. Joseph H.S. for football, and played 4 years at the University of Dayton. Dave served for 41 years teaching, coaching, and in administration at Padua H.S., Euclid H.S., Wickliffe H.S., Willoughby Jr. High, and Newbury Middle School. He was very proud to have started the wrestling program at Padua and served as the Head Coach at Wickliffe H.S.

Family and friends may call at Gattozzi and Son Funeral Home, 12524 Chillicothe Rd., Chesterland on Sunday 2-5 pm. Mass of Christian Burial 11:00 am, Monday, November 10, 2025 at the Church of the Holy Angels, 18205 Chillicothe Rd., Chagrin Falls, OH 44023 (Please meet at church). Interment at All Souls Cemetery in Chardon.
