Eugene Francis McShane

EUGENE FRANCIS McSHANE, 67 passed away Thursday, October 17, 2013 at Kobacher House hospice in Columbus, Ohio. He was born March 4, 1946 in County Mayo, Ireland. A son of the late Michael Patrick and Ellen McHale McShane, Eugene immigrated to the United States in 1951. Eugene was a graduate of Georgetown University and the Case Western Reserve University School of Law. He was admitted to the Ohio bar in 1971. He practiced law in Columbus, Ohio as Chief of the Antitrust Section for Ohio Attorney General, partner in the firm of McShane, Breitfeller & Witten and, at the time of his death, in the employ of Safe Auto Insurance. He is survived by his sisters Eileen Roache of North Olmsted, OH, Sr. Veronica McShane OP of Dublin Ireland and brother Gerard C. McShane of Pompano Beach, as well as nieces and nephews: Michael E. McShane, Brendan McShane, John McShane, Margaret Nazarini, Linda Payne, Kelly Moley, Eileen M. Casey, Karen A. Dixon, Stephen R. Miller, Lawrence W. Miller, Brigid Willis, Sean Mulcahy, Maureen Earl, Patrick Mulcahy, Andrew Biernot, Sheila Lape, Hugh G. Breen, Thomas Breen, Christopher McShane, and Scott McShane. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 am, Tuesday Oct. 22, 2013 at: The Church of St. Anselm, 12969 Chillicothe Rd., Chesterland, OH., by Rev. Thomas M. Sweany with burial to follow at All Souls Cemetery.
