

James "Jim" R. Bice, age 69, of Newbury Township, died April 15, 2010, at Hillcrest Hospital in Mayfield Heights. Born June 19, 1940, in Cullman, Ala., he lived in Newbury Township the past 40 years. One of Jim's greatest joys was his grandchildren. He loved attending events of theirs, helping take care of them, and just spending time with them. Mr. Bice was employed by the city of Mayfield Heights Service Department for 37 years, retiring in 1994. Survivors are his wife, Margaret, "Peggy"; sons, James "Buttons" (Lisa) of Newbury Township and Ken (Tina) of Newbury Township; daughter, Lisa (Steve) McClure of Streetsboro; grandchildren, Shaun, Diana Renae, and Hannah Bice, and Steven (Heidi) and Michelle McClure; great-granddaughter, Tiffany; sisters, Betty (Oscar) Glasscock and Bobbie Dotson; and brother, Bill Bice. He was preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Lola Bice; sisters, Faye White and Sybil Cary; and brothers, Joe Bice and Darryl Bice. Visitation will be Sunday from 2 to 6 p.m. at Gattozzi and Son Funeral Home, 12524 Chillicothe Road, Chester Township. Services will be 11 a.m. Monday, April 19, at the funeral home. The Rev. Gary Glasscock will officiate at services. Interment will be in Western Reserve Memorial Gardens in Chester Township.
