James Donald Lewis

James Donald Lewis, age 84, passed away on Monday, April 20, 2026, after a long battle with cancer. He was born in Mercer, Pennsylvania, on January 3, 1942, the son of Lillian Mae (Stewart) and Jack Benjamin Lewis. Jim was a 1959 graduate of Mercer High School and attended Lakeland Community College. He served in the United States Navy from 1959 until 1965. On July 17, 1970, he married Marie Louise Mangino. Jim was a faithful and longtime member of St. Bartholomew Episcopal Church. He was a draftsman, working for General Motors and retiring from Alcoa. Jim loved playing golf and was a member of the Stonewater Golf Club of Highland Heights.

He is preceded in death by his parents; niece, Michelle; and nephew, Oliver. Survivors include his wife of nearly fifty-six years, Marie Lewis of Euclid, Ohio; his brother, Charles (Kathy) Lewis of Erie, Pennsylvania; nieces, Stephanie, Mary, Charlene, and Lisa; nephews, Chas and Mark; along with many great nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held on May 2, 2026 at 11:00 AM at St. Bartholomew Episcopal Church, 435 Som Center Road, Mayfield Village, 44143. Private burial will be in Western Reserve Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cleveland Clinic at Home Hospice, at 9500 Euclid Ave. Cleveland, OH 44195.
