Judith Ann Colasante (nee Mucci), age 82, of Chesterland, Ohio passed away peacefully in her sleep on April 8th, 2022. Judith "Judy" was born on October 24th, 1939 in Cleveland, Ohio, and was the daughter to the late Dominic and Eleanor (nee Clark) Mucci. She was married to "the greatest man she ever knew," Luciano Colasante, for 59 years. In addition to her beloved and caring husband, Judy's "greatest love and joy" was her family which includes her children Daniel (Amy), Mary Akcakil (Adnan), and Mark (Sarah); her grandchildren Nicholas, Sevgim Akcakil, Benjamin, and Sami Akcakil; her brothers William Mucci (Margery "Jean") (deceased) and Michael Mucci (Karen); brothers and sisters-in-law Remo "Ray" (deceased) and Carol, Dante and Vittoria; nieces and nephews Christina, Michael, Scott and Leslie Mucci, Settimio, Massimo, Rosanna and their families. She was also a beloved cousin and friend to many. Judy was a proud graduate of Regina High School. She went on to John Carroll University and later Ursuline College from which she graduated after a pause to raise her family with Luciano. Judy was a teacher at St. Paschal and St. Anselm Schools for many years where she enjoyed sharing her love of learning with her students. Judy had many passions in life including her faith, music and books, the Metroparks (where she could always stop to smell the "sunflowers!"), and parties and holidays surrounded by her family and friends. Judy had a heart of gold throughout her entire life. She was a friend to all - especially to those who needed one most – a true champion for the underdog. And, even through the final stages of Alzheimer's, she never forgot the words: "Thank You!" "I Love You!" "God Bless You!" Thank you, dearest Judy. We love you always. God bless and rest your soul. Friends are welcome at Gattozzi and Son Funeral Home, 12524 Chillicothe Road, Chesterland on Tuesday April 19th, 2022 from 4-8pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Anselm Church, 12969 Chillicothe Road Chesterland, on Wednesday April 20th, 2022 at 10am. (Please Meet at Church). Interment All Souls Cemetery, Chardon.
Family recommends masks at visitation and church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Judy’s name to the St. Anselm School in Chesterland Support A Student (see link below) and to the Sisters of Notre Dame Associates in Chardon (see link below). Both were organizations that Judy faithfully served and held close to her heart.
