Lucy Ann Mormile-Leonard

Lucy Ann Mormile-Leonard, age 96, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 3, 2025, in Chardon, Ohio. She was born on March 31, 1929, in Gates Mills, Ohio, the daughter of Anna (Nystrom) and Frank Danato Mastranglo. Lucy was a 1947 graduate of Mayfield Heights High School. Chesterland, Ohio was home for many years of her life, but she did spend a few years in Panama City, Florida. She was a cook for the West Geauga High School and was adored by all the students, and after retirement she was a caregiver for Home Instead, where she was awarded caregiver of the decade. Lucy was a great mom to her five children, quite the artist, enjoying toll painting and doing jigsaw puzzles.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her son, William P. Mormile; son-in-law, Joseph A. Galiardi; and four brothers. Survivors include her four children, Carol (John) Minor of Chardon, Ohio, Ann M. Galiardi of Mentor, Ohio, Robert J. (Valerie) Mormile of Concord, Ohio, and James E. (Katie) Mormile of Panama City, Florida; daughter-in-law, Betty Mormile of Tallahassee, Florida; twelve grandchildren, Chrissy, Joey, Sarah, Stephen, Josh, Shelly, Rich, Christopher, Jeremy, Lindsay, Holly, and Danny; twenty-five great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at Noon, at Gattozzi and Son Funeral Home, 12524 Chillicothe Road, Chesterland, Ohio, 44026. Burial will follow in Gates Mills South Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Saturday, November 8th from 10:00 AM until the time of services.
