Michael Anthony Talarico, “Mikey”, loving husband and father of two, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 20 at the age of 63. Michael was born on February 2, 1956, in Chardon, Ohio. Michael was a lifelong resident of Geauga County. Michael was preceded in death by his father, Anthony Talarico. Michael is survived by Janet Talarico, his loving wife of 35 years, their daughters Sarah Talarico (Dayton Phillips), Stephanie Foster (Robert Holmes), and his beloved grandchildren Tyler Hein, Felicity Phillips, and Cora Foster. He is also survived by his mother Helen Jean Talarico, brother James Talarico, sister Jeanne Ann Talarico, several cousins, nieces, nephew, and their families.
Michael had a passion for people, making friends everywhere he went. He leaves behind many lifelong friends and beautiful memories. He loved to travel. He was employed as a professional driver for most of his life, masterfully operating anything with wheels. From big rigs to heavy equipment to commercial wreckers, he drove them all. He enjoyed traveling and camping throughout the country with his family and dear friends. He was a skilled woodworker, making creative and intricate pieces that will be enjoyed for generations to come. He will always be remembered for his quick wit, infectious laugh, and his kind, compassionate, generous spirit. Not only was he big in stature, but he had an even bigger heart.
The family would like to thank the staff of Briar Hill, Geauga Hospital, and Hospice of the Western Reserve who provided compassionate care to Michael.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, November 25 at Gattozzi & Son Funeral Home in Chesterland, Ohio from 4 to 8 p.m. Private interment to be held at a later date.
