He was born Nov. 29, 1946, in Newark. Survivors include his daughters, Carrie Ranney, and Traci (John) Galatas; grandchildren, Jack and Sarah Galatas; sister, Mary Helen (David) Young; niece, Jennifer Young; and nephews, Thomas and Troy Ranney. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert C. and Madelyn M. (Meuth) Ranney; and brother, Thomas Ranney. Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2012, at Church of Saint Anselm, 12969 Chillicothe Road, Chester Township. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2012, at Gattozzi and Son Funeral Home, 12524 Chillicothe Road, Chester Township. Private family interment will take place at a later time.
