Remembering Bob:

How could I ever forget the practical jokes you would play on new teachers.

One of many that I recall is when you and I were talking to a new teacher and you said in a genuine tone:

"Weclome ________, you'll do great here."

"Faye and I are here to help you in any way that you need.  You went on to say, "If you feel you have a concern please talk to us."  And then you said and "one more thing, (in a serious tone), our levy didn't pass, so the last hour of the day, we need you to drive the school bus."

Bob, you went on to say, "We'll help you get the licensing you need and you can start next week.  Is that ok?"

The answer from the new teacher was a meek "Yes."

A few years ago, I had the opportunity to meet Bob Nemunaitis through his daughter, Kristen. Although I had never actually worked with Bob, it didn't take long to learn of his passion and dedication for the wellbeing of young people. Throughout our brief acquaintance, we discussed all matters of education including his career as a counselor, the role of a teacher and the many challenges within the educational environment today. Bob was continuously positive and upbeat, believing in the power of one to make a difference. He made me feel proud to be a teacher. He relished the idea that he was from the old school. The future of education would be in good hands with more educators like Bob Nemunaitis who developed strong relationships and took the time to listen to kids. God bless you Bob.

I am a 1979 West Geauga graduate and remember Mr. Nemunaitis very well while a student at the Middle School. He was very kind and nice and he will be greatly missed by all of us from the WG School System.

So sorry for your loss. Mr Nemunaitis was a great guy and guidance counselor. I have fond memories of him from my many hours spent at WGMS growing up and as a student.

Dear Sister, please accept my deepest sympathy. I know what you are going through.  Bobby was the life of the party and a great husband and father.  Family always came first with him.  I can see him and George enjoying a cigar together. Now the two BFF's are together again. We can only imagine what Peace is like but he is now experiencing it.  Love always, Linda

To Ginger and all the Nemunaitis family: We all lost a very special man this week. I had the very good fortune to have worked with Nemo for many years at WGMS. He certainly made me a better person and Principal. His little pranks, mischievous smile and sense of humor always made the days brighter. I am sure Nemo now has a special "messy" office in heaven, as he offers counseling advice to all of the angels. There is no greater measure of a man...than making a difference in the lives of kids. Nemo did that and more. Thanks for the wonderful memories and God bless you!!

Ginger and family - I am truly sorry for your loss - one great guy - he was always a pleasure to work with - very professional and caring with his students.  We spent our careers working together.

    I will always cherish the fond memories I have of Bob. I look forward to a time when we will all be together again in a better place where there is no pain and sorrow. Dear Ginger and family, Bob was certainly an asset to the families at West Geauga Schools. He always listened to the students and then gave them their options  and tools to make decisions regarding studies, relationships, morals and life in general. Joan Spangler (School Nurse.) Dear Ginger, Dr. John, Eleanor, Danny and respective families, please accept my most sincere condolences on your loss and really all of our loss. May he now rest in peace.

Dear Ginger and family and Dr. John, Eleanor, Danny and families,

I was so saddened to hear this past week that Bob has been quite ill.  When my brother, Greg, called to let you know of my mother's (Alice M. Munn) sudden death (just a week earlier as it has turned out than Bob's,) he called me and told me about cousin Bobby fighting illness. (as I used to call him.)

Now Bob too, has been taken to heaven too soon in age, but his guardian angel has lifted him up and relieved him of his pain.  I have got to believe that heaven is something like the Bible and books describe and that both he and my mom are being welcomed by Uncle John, Aunt Elsie, Grandma and Grandpa Cruxton and Mom who started her trip last Sunday. 

May God help all of you to cope with his death and
bless his soul.  There will be much grieving but I hope happy memories from the past can bring you comfort and joy in the future.
