

Robert O. "Bob" Wade, age 90, passed away Oct. 17, 2014, at Arden Courts of Bainbridge He was born April 15, 1924, in Buffalo, N.Y. and a resident of Chester Twp. for 25 years. Bob was a U.S. Army Veteran, serving in the South Pacific, and earning a Purple Heart. He was a graduate of William Patterson University in New Jersey and later became a member of Actors Equity. He was a member of the Church of Saint Anselm, the church choir, and a local barbershop chorus. Bob was an outdoor enthusiast, and along with his wife Margaret enjoyed hiking, biking, cross-country skiing, and becoming an accomplished tennis player. He was an avid reader and enjoyed attending concerts and plays. Bob was a real people person and often talked with anyone he encountered. He was employed as an Inventory Control Specialist at U.S. Molding, retiring in 1996. He is survived by his wife, Margaret M. Wade (nee Christoff); brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, John and Peggy Christoff, Richard and Anne Coe, and Ronald and Jean Neitzke; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Frances Wade; and brother, John Wade, Jr. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m., Monday, at Gattozzi and Son Funeral Home, 12524 Chillicothe Rd., Chester Twp. Private interment at a later date in Washington Crossing National Cemetery in Newtown, Pa. Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 21, 2014, at Church of Saint Anselm, 12969 Chillicothe Rd., Chester Twp.
