The high school sports community is mourning the loss of Coach Rollin R. Devere II, who passed away January 21, 2021. Coach DeVere was a defining fixture at University School for over four decades from 1958 to 2005. At U.S. He was a dedicated coach of track and cross country, with a school record of two district titles and 237 wins/130 losses. He was a gifted actor delighting audiences at the Chagrin Valley Little Theater in many roles. He also wrote a number of plays, screenplays, and was a serious scholar of Shakespearean authorship. A committed schoolman, a lively mind, and a devoted husband and father, Rollin was a man of parts. He will be dearly missed.
