Stanley Peter Talarcek, age 100, went home to be with the Lord, on Tuesday, September 30, 2025. He was born on the family farm in Burton, Ohio, May 2, 1925, the son of Victoria (Brondaski) and Peter Talarcek. Stanley was a graduate of Russell High School, shipping off to the United States Navy in 1943 when he was only seventeen and received his diploma after enlisting. He served aboard the USS Starlight (AP175) a transport ship in the Pacific during World War II. They were landing troops during the invasions of Guam, Leyte, Luzon, and Okinawa. The Starlight was credited to shooting down four Japanese airplanes.
In 1948 he married Jean Julliane Kubiak. Together they owned and operated J & S Television of Novelty. “Stan the TV Man” could not only fix TV’s, he could fix most anything, and nothing ever went to waste. Having grown up during the Great Depression, Stanley was frugal and resourceful, building his own home and barn. He enjoyed dancing and was an avid reader. Stanley was constantly active maintaining his property and had a love of Bluebirds, feeding and building houses for them. He was a devoted Catholic, and a member of St. Anselm Catholic Church. Stanley was a family man, spending time with his grandchildren, taking them for walks in the woods, and teaching them how to be entertained with simple things that could be found in nature. He was a devoted husband of seventy-seven years, caring for his wife the past ten years, after her stroke, with tender loving care.
Stanley is preceded in death by his parents; his eleven siblings and his beloved wife, Jean, who passed away only seventeen days prior. Survivors include his four children, Suzanne J. (John) Nass of Concord, Ohio, Mike P. Talarcek of Willoughby, Ohio, Dan (Sue) Talarcek of Hudson, Ohio, and Kim P. (Debra) Talarcek of Chardon, Ohio; grandchildren, Jason (Rowan), Staysie (Matt), Joshua, Gregory, Matthew, and four others; and great-grandchildren, Kaile, Siobhan, Payton, Brookelyn, and four others.
