

(Mendoza) and Henry Silva on May 23, 1950, in Chicago, Illinois. He is survived by his
longtime companion, Carol Perry, and siblings: Henry (Hank) Silva, Adeline (Lance) Dicaire,
Mary Louise (Fernando) Romo, Steven (Cindy) Hernandez, Louis (Tracy) Hernandez, Rene
(Maria) Hernandez, and numerous nieces and nephews and his cat Muffin. He was
predeceased by his brother Richard (Dee) Silva.
Andy was a Vietnam veteran having served with the U.S. Army. He was a college graduate
with two associates degrees. He was a long-time runner, bicycle rider, roller blader and
active walker. He loved to travel from England, Ireland, France, Mexico, Canada, and all
over the United States. He loved Boston, Fort Meyers Beach, San Francisco, and Dublin
where the food was great, and the drink was plentiful. He was retired from Jewel Osco after
31 years of service as a truck driver. He loved driving and meeting new people every day.
He loved life and was known to be boisterous and fun to be around.
Visitation will be at Malec and Sons Funeral Home, 6000 Milwaukee, Chicago, Illinois on
Friday July 18th from 4:00 to 8:00 pm.
