Carl was born on November 16, 1962, in Chicago, Illinois, to the late Ceasar Davis and Annie Julia Davis. From an early age, Carl was known for his infectious humor and warm spirit. He was truly the comedian of the family always laughing, always joking, and always able to bring a smile to those around him. Carl loved to eat, loved to laugh, and most of all, he loved people.
In the 1980's, Carl experienced an unforeseeable accident that left him unable to walk or live a traditional life. He spent the remainder of his years in various healthcare facilities, but his circumstances never defined his spirit. Carl remained positive, kind, and full of joy. Though his speech became slower over time, his memory stayed sharp, his humor never faded, and his smile continued to light up every room he entered. His resilience, strength, and unwavering good nature were an inspiration to all who knew him.
Carl was a genuinely good person with a beautiful soul. His presence will be deeply missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ceasar and Annie Julia Davis. He leaves to cherish his loving memory, sister Shirley Thomas; aunts Emma Perkins and the late Rosie Lee Redmond; niece Nicole Muhammad; great-niece Atiya Muhammad and a host of other nieces, nephews, family members and friends.
Though our hearts are heavy, we take comfort in knowing that Carl is now at peace and in a better place, free from pain, and reunited with loved ones who went before him.
