

Cesar Rivera Perez, age 82, of Chicago, Illinois passed away on Thursday, November 4, 2021. Cesar was born in Aguada, Puerto Rico on March 15, 1939, to Victoria Perez and Ramon Rivera. Devoted husband of Antonia Rivera. Loving father of Maritza (Gerardo) Medrano, Cesar (Diana) Rivera. Proud Grandpa of Joshua, Christian, and Elijah Medrano as well as Vanessa and Josiah Rivera. Dear brother to Casilda, Ramonita, Hector, Jesus, Carmen Crespo as well as Angel, Jorge and Hector “Herty” Santiago.
Cesar was a retired executive chef for Canteen Corporation located in Harris Bank’s Corporate downtown Chicago branch. He cooked delicious dishes for over 30 years and still continued to cook after retirement. His family will miss his famous lasagna as well as his Puerto Rican pasteles. Aside from being a great chef, Cesar was a diehard Cubs fan. Although he never stepped into Wrigley Field, he never missed a game and saw every Cubs fan’s dream of watching them win the 2016 World Series.
Cesar will be fondly remembered by his family for his love of the Cubs, The Three Stooges, Old Westerns as well as his flannel shirts and baseball caps. Also, for showering his grandkids with love, attention, and food. He will be deeply missed by his family.
A visitation service will be held on Sunday, November 14, 2021, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Montclair-Lucania Funeral Home, 6901 W Belmont Ave, Chicago Illinois 60634. Followed by a brief prayer on Monday, November 15 at 11:00 AM with burial at Eden Cemetery in Schiller Park to follow.
