Corazon Ayson Galingan

Corazon A. Galingan has entered eternal life on October 17, 2025. Born to this life on August 24, 1941, Cora was a loving wife to Jesus; mother to Gigi (AJ d. 2021), Dennis, Mina, Claire (Raffy), and Elsa; grandmother to Tony, JD (Sebastian), Amanda (Juan), Amber (Jeff), Alex (Melody), Autumn, Ryan, and Caitlan; great-grandmother to Jeremiah, Teagan, Kayla, Jayden, Cassie, Esme, RJ, and Ollie.

Cora was a woman of patience, understanding, and offered unconditional love. She had profound generosity to ensure others are tended to. Her selfless act of kindness was felt in her presence. Her strong Catholic faith guided her actions and choices in life events.

Cora was known for her passion of gardening. She made sure every spring her garden was ready for planting. She worked hard maintaining her fruits and vegetables so that she can share her bountiful harvest with her family. Cora enjoyed traveling; she created fond memories with her friends exploring different countries. As each time, she returned with souvenirs and shared stories about her trip.

Cora had passed on peacefully in her home surrounded with her love ones. Although her physical presence may no longer grace our lives, her spirit will continue to inspire and uplift us. May she rest in her eternal life.

Visitation for Corazon will be held on Friday, October 24, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Drake & Son Funeral Home, 5303 North Western Ave, Chicago, IL 60625. A prayer service will be held from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM. A Novena prayer will be held on Saturday October 25, 2025 at 8am at Our Lady of Mercy (4432 N. Troy St., Chicago, IL 60625). The memorial service at Rosehill Cemetery will be held at a later date with details to follow.
