

Born on July 28, 1963 in Chicago, Ill., he spent his formative years in Glendale Heights and was a proud graduate of Glenbard North High School, Class of 1982, Daniel went on to serve his country with honor in the United States Navy as a Mess Specialist.
After his service, Danny found his calling in hospitality, bringing warmth and care to every role he held. His talents and genuine kindness left a lasting impression on all who worked alongside him.
Daniel was blessed to share 23 wonderful years of marriage with the love of his life, Kim Kalusa. Together they built a beautiful family, raising their son, Daniel Kalusa III.
He had a true passion for cooking and loved spending time with his family around the table to share food, laughter, and stories. A loyal Chicago sports fan, Danny loved the Cubs and Bears, concerts, bowling, and spending time with their dog Diamond. He approached life with an adventurous spirit, cherishing every opportunity to create new memories with family and friends.
Daniel is survived by his wife, Kim Kalusa nee (Millsaps) ; his son, Daniel Kalusa III; his father Daniel C. Kalusa Sr., Stepmother Sally Kalusa, his sisters, Denise (Darrin) Bacon, Samantha Boldt, and Lisa (Karl) Johnson; his brothers, John (Leonora) Kalusa and Michael (Angie) Kalusa; and many beloved aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Nancy Kalusa, and his brothers Jeff Boldt and Robert Kalusa.
Daniel will be remembered for his devotion to family and friends, his generous heart, and his love for life. His laughter, kindness, and adventurous spirit touched everyone who knew him and his memory will continue to bring comfort and inspiration to all whose lives he touched.
A visitation for Daniel C. Kalusa Jr. will be held on Monday, November 3, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Malec & Sons Funeral Home, 6000 North Milwaukee Avenue, Chicago, IL 60646 followed by a Chapel Mass beginning at 12:00 PM at the same location.
Interment will follow at St. Adalbert Cemetery in Niles, IL.
