He and his dad built a giant train track and village to scale. It was amazing. Eventually he wouldmove on to bigger things. He played football and baseball,l but his true love of sport was hockey. He loved his Blackhawks!! Stan Mikita and Bobby Hull, he idolized. He was a very good hockey player. He would put his nephew in the net, so that he could practice his slap shots. You can ask Rick how much he enjoyed that! Haha. During that time, Eddie began having a interest in flying radio control planes. Starting with U-controlled planes with his cousin next door, Joey Genovese.
He attended Notre Dame High School In Niles, Illinois then on to DeVry and then Coyne College/branch of Coyne Electrical & Coyne American Institute. After school, Eddie spent his career of 35 years with Sears.
Through the years, his love of plane building, flying and camaraderie with special long time friends Joe and Linda Lohr, Al Brose, and Jerry Nowicki among many others. Ed was a member of CRCM=Chicago Radio Control Modelers, where he was the president for many years. He was also a member of Radio Signalers Modeling Inc. for many years. They would all share their passion of flying at fields around the area. Most notably, Schaumburg, Shoe Factory and Schiller parks.
Eddie was a true Chicagoan! Love of his Superdawg, pizza and a good combo.
Great with one liners! Genius in fact at times. He really gave us a good laugh.
Most importantly, he taught us the true meaning of patience and kindness. It’s how he lived his life and will be most remembered for.
Leo Buscaglia writes, “I know for certain that we nevr lose the people we love, even to death. They continue to participate in every act, thought and decision we make. Their love leaves an indelible imprint in our memories. We find comfort in knowing that our lives have been enriched by having shared their love.”
Rest In peace Dear Eddie. We love you.
