Emma Atwal

Born on December 15, 1955 to Maximino Soller Sunio and Dolores Guerrero Sunio, Emma spent her childhood growing up in the city of Cabugao, Philippines alongside her brothers, sister, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Emma lived in the Philippines until she moved to Chicago, Illinois in 1980. Upon moving to Chicago, Emma began working diligently as a registered nurse, a career she cherished and loved. Emma dedicated her life towards helping others as a medical professional, and she did so in stride until the very last year of her life.

On October 11, 1992, Emma married the love of her life Gurmit S. Atwal. Gurmit and Emma went on to have their only son, Justin Atwal and lived in Lincolnwood, Illinois where they built their dream home and enjoyed many years creating fond memories with family and friends. Emma touched the lives of many with her generosity and kindness.

Emma will be lovingly remembered by her Husband of 31 years, Gurmit Atwal and their son Justin Atwal. She will also be fondly remembered by her siblings: Sister, Josefina Rillo; Brother, Eugene Sunio; Brother, Gilbert Sunio; Brother, Gabriel Sunio; and their families.
