The first time I was invited for dinner I saw her photo(s) of Abraham Lincoln, one above the mirror in  the dining room. She had a deep respect for the man and what he represented. A rare person in this world. Mrs Petrelli was the best and shall be truly missed. Love you mom,

I knew Mrs. Petrelli through her daughter Karen. Working together on and off for more than 30 years, I heard many wonderful and funny stories about Karen's Mom. I also got to meet her on a few special occasions. Once I was asked what was one word to describe Karen. I chose compassionate. And I came to realize that Karen got that characteristic from her Mom. I will continue to enjoy Karen's stories about her and be grateful that Mrs. Petrelli raised an equally compassionate, generous, thoughtful and yes, fun daughter!

Our Aunt Gerry was a loving and wonderful person. She made us laugh with her stories and always had a kind word and lots of hugs for all of us. You are going to missed very much and always remembered with loving memories.

Dear Rich, Sue and Family, we were so sorry to hear about your Mother's death. We are praying for your continued strength at this very difficult time.

What a wonderful woman. From her smile, to her compliments, to the way she listened so intently when I talked to her, to the sneaky way she would slip my sister and I money behind mom and dad's back when we were little, I am going to miss my grandma so much. She had such a powerful and generous soul. I am so grateful and blessed to have had her in my life, and am even more grateful and blessed to still have her in my heart.

To Uncle Mickey we will always cherish and remember her and we are so thankful you were able to be at our wedding smiling and laughing. To Sue, Rich & Karen we will always embrace the very best of what she represented as a Grandma, Mother and Aunt and carry on the memories to our family to honor. And to all of her wonderful grandkids always remember Aunt Gerry will be there to guide you and show you the way. Keep her prayer card and pictures nearby and she will always be there to help guide your path!

My Aunt Gerry was a very caring, thoughtful & loving Aunt. I will miss talking to her every few weeks. I always told her that I loved her & Uncle Mickey very much. She will be always be in my heart and remembered forever. I know she is at peace now with her family & friends in Heaven and not suffering. My heartfelt sympathy to Uncle Mickey and their family.

I love you mom. You were my best friend for a long time. You were my counselor and the best listener. You were my advisor. You were one amazing, beautiful person. Your generosity and compassion were abounding. No matter how inconsiderate and thoughtless I was to you, you loved me unconditionally. You took me back, when I hit rock bottom and never gave up on me. You taught me to be honest and compassionate. You always told the brutally honest truth to make me see the light. You never spanked us, all you had to do was give us the look and we behaved immediately. 
I just love how you would get so angry at the politicians. I'd like to see the leaders of these countries who are starting wars with another get into the ring and duke it out. Men don't know how to manage money. Put women in charge and the books would be balanced.  Hah these politicians tell us seniors to tighten our belts and budget our money when they can't manage money. They should take a cut in pay.
We had crazy things happen on our family vacations, one year when we went to The Dells, dad got stung by the same bee twice, you fell and got a fat lip while we were playing miniature golf, (you always said you weren't very athletic), then I came down with a viral infection and we had to search for a hospital. Rich got away unscathed. We laughed about it later on. The year we vacationed with Tom and Carol and their family, I will never forget when we visited a petting zoo in Michigan and you were wearing that bright yellow skirt and two goats came over to you and started chewing on it. You just laughed and thought they were so cute. Then dad, Rich and I went to the beach. Dad was lying down on the towel half asleep, and Rich was happily playing with a big  boulder which he threw behind him. It landed on dad's shin (ouch). I never saw dad move that fast before. I rescued my dear sweet brother from the wrath of dad, and while I was bending down in the lake to pick up some shells, he poured a bucket of wet sand down my underwear.
You never nagged. You let Rich and I do things our way, especially our household chores. You praised us on how beautiful the house looked. When I told you about how lucky I was to have a mother who never nagged, your response was why should I nag and criticize, then the housework would never get done.  You would let us solve our problems on own with subtle guidance; having us think we did it on our own.  A lesson in self-confidence. We've been through good times. We've been through some rough times, but you always got us through. 
You had nothing but unconditional love for your grandchildren. Sometimes I do believe you loved Justin more than you loved me, but hey that's what grandmas are for. 
I love you for who you are and what you taught me. I will miss you so much, but I know you will always be watching over us. You will live in my heart and soul forever.

You will truly be missed by all of us! We can't thank you enough for your kindness, love and generosity that you have shown us throughout the years! Our lives will not be the same without you, but we know that you would not have wanted to remain in a coma, and in a nursing home. I know you are up there celebrating with all who have gone before you. You can now enjoy eternal life "pain free" and remember if you get to choose to be a guardian angel for Justin, Kristin and Nick. We love you.

Gerry was the kindest, gentle person we have ever known.  We're sure she's with GOD right now and we hope to meet her there someday.

From the first dance at Sunday night dancing I knew Gerry was the one for me.  Ever since that moment my love grew more each day.  After 3-1/2 years we decided to get married.  We spent our honeymoon at the Wisconsin Dells and we were off to a great start.  We had 61 wonderful years together.  

We started a family and watched our children grow up into two good people.  We had a daughter, Karen, who was a little wild, and our son Rich who never gave us any trouble.  We loved them both the same. And we worked together as a family. 

When we were empty nesters, it was quiet in the house.  So, we went on many bus trips together across the United States.  We always had things in common and we worked out our differences.  Thankfully, Gerry balanced the books.  For these reasons, we had a great marriage.  

She was a great wife. She always made sure I never went hungry.  I will miss her, but she will be in my heart forever.
