Grace was born to Jesse and Callie Pruett in Long Beach, California. She graduated from Anaheim Union High School in 1958. She was involved with Jobs Daughters, becoming Honored Queen. Grace went on to graduate from Fullerton Jr College in 1960. She met her husband Ralph Kayser while he was stationed as a Marine at 29 Palms. They married and moved to Chicago where they raised two children.
Grace was involved in many activities including the School PTA and Boy Scouts. After years as a Homemaker, she entered the outside workforce. First at Sears Roebuck and then working in the Banking Industry until her retirement. She was an expert seamstress, an avid reader, played pinochle and loved researching genealogy. Grace was very committed to her Faith.
After her husband passed at a very young age, she moved to Arlington Heights. While living there, she met her life partner, Ralph Werfel. They spent many years together enjoying family and each other. Grace especially loved being a grandma and becoming a Great-Grandma. She enjoyed being able to help others and started her “kindness initiative”. It was her way of gifting and spreading kindness.
