

Jaime Obaldo, age 98, a proud WWII U.S. Army Veteran with the Filipino Scouts and a beloved resident of Chicago, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Patriot Day, Thursday, September 11, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Jaime was born on September 10, 1927, in Balaoan, La Union, Philippines, and lived a remarkable life marked by honor, service, generosity, and love. As a young man, Jaime answered the call to serve, proudly joining the United States Army during World War II—a commitment that shaped his deep sense of duty and integrity throughout his life.
Jaime was the most loving husband to Teresita Obaldo, with whom he shared a beautiful and enduring marriage. He was a devoted father to Joan (Tim Jones) Obaldo, Jack (Jeanie) Obaldo, and James (Diana) Obaldo; an adoring grandfather to Alex, Justin, Jaden, Johanna, and JJ; and the most cherished great-grandfather to Winter and Onyx. He was the cherished son of the late Pedro and Aurelia Obaldo, and the beloved brother of Larry, Teddy, Aurelia, Leonarda, Pinong, Lita, and Bing. Jaime was also an unforgettable uncle, a caring cousin, and a loyal friend to many.
Known for his generous heart, quick wit, and contagious sense of humor, Jaime had a gift for making people laugh and feel at home. He was selfless and deeply dedicated to his family. An avid fisherman and hunter, he found peace and joy in nature and the outdoors.
Jaime leaves behind a legacy of strength, humility, and unconditional love. He touched countless lives with his warmth, generosity, wisdom, and unwavering kindness. His stories will be retold, his laughter remembered, and his memory cherished forever.
He will be dearly missed.
