Kenneth William Hoppensteadt

Kenneth William Hoppensteadt, age 64, of Chicago passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, March 2, 2022. Kenneth was born August 26, 1957. Beloved husband of Susan Niezgoda; Most loving father of Elizabeth Hoppensteadt and Kathryn Hoppensteadt; Beloved son of the late Robert and Esther Hoppensteadt; Cherished brother of Thomas (Deborah) Hoppensteadt, Debra (Michael) Moorman and Diane (Bela) Csongradi; Beloved uncle of Bryan, Brandon, Lauren, Michael, Nicholas, Christopher, Paul, Matthew, Nathan and Joseph.

Ken had a ready smile, generous spirit and was always willing to help others . He was an avid softball player who participated in an over-50 league and always maintained his competitive nature. Ken was interested in history and travel, he was adventurous and enjoyed snorkeling. At home, he liked to entertain and was proud of his expertise in grilling. He could be found on many summer weekends whipping up delicious meals on his grill in the alley. He worked as a CPA for 40 years and had many friends. Most importantly, Ken was a devoted husband and father. He was proud of his two daughters and all their accomplishments. He will be missed greatly by his family and friends.

A visitation for Kenneth will be held Friday, March 11, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Malec & Sons Funeral Home, 6000 North Milwaukee Ave, Chicago, IL 60646. A funeral mass will occur Saturday, March 12, 2022 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at St. Elizabeth of the Trinity, 6020 W Ardmore Ave, Chicago, IL 60646.
