I did not know Kevin; only hearing about the accident in the papers.  A frustrating loss as he was simply earning a living and working to improve something so many of use.  He did not lose his life in vain.

My family lived on the same block as the Benoits on 79th & California.  I had already moved out of the house, but my younger sister, Rita relays this story - little Kevin used to come down the street when he saw our Dad, Mr. Reardon out working on the lawn or raking leaves.  Our Dad would ask Kevin to help out and while Kevin had his head turned, our Dad would throw down a dollar bill.  Our Dad got such a kick out of seeing the surprised look on Kevin's face when he found the dollar(s) in the pile of leaves.  Our Dad really liked that kid.  We're pretty sure Mr. Reardon was waiting for Kevin in heaven, with a dollar in hand.

Kevin from the day you were born you always had a smile on your face and a good sense of humor and loved your Family ~~I am so going to miss you.

Kevin you were a true friend.  I enjoyed our time working together at the refinery.  You will be missed my friend.
