Uncle Lawrence in Heaven!  Reunited with his original family from a time way back when when none of us were yet born...
  
From our limited human perspective, the passing of a parent, partner, grandparent, or the like is hard to bear as the sense of loss and grief is so deep...  However, from an eternal perspective, we celebrate Lawrence's life and the fact that we'll all be together again!  Remember, we are just sojourners on earth, and CITIZENS OF HEAVEN.

I pray for a peace "that surpasses understanding" especially for Audrey, Uncle Gary, Uncle Darryl, and Aunt Kathy, and all you darling grandkids (I still feel poignant heartache with the absence of my grandmother, but I was so blessed to spend so much time with her while she was here, and you guys were even more blessed with the gift of time!)  

Know that our love is with everyone at this time, and we revel in the many memories to be cherished...for me, especially memories from the time when those of my generation were just children and we would gather in Haegers Bend for holidays and special occasions, and the 3 generations above us would regale us with stories of all the crazy things you did together before our time!  What a family!

Dear Gary, Darryl, and Kathy,
Please accept my condolences.  I have a mental picture in my mind of your Dad sitting in our kitchen on Loomis. He had a hat on his head, a big smile on his face and was holding Kathy's doll.  It's a great memory.  
I also remember that in more recent years your Dad was one of two nephews who kept in touch with my Mom for the many years after my Dad died until she was in her late 90's. I'll not forget that.

As I look back on all the memories I have had throughout my early years; it is indeed the memories of Haegers Bend and trips into Chicago being with the family - playing cards and the laughter that echoed throughout our homes.

Time has gone by but all of our memories will last forever

They truly were good times when we were ALL together.

I am saddened to learn of the passing your Dad. I've been reflecting on the times we had with him and the lessons he never failed to teach us as we grew. I'd be remiss if I failed to mention the last time I was in the U.P. with all of you when, after a "safety brief" on fireworks, Uncle Lawrence "adjourned" to the" library".  I don't recall which of us (Gary, Darryl, Steve or myself) tossed the cherry bomb into the "library"; but I will never forget the result!!
