In Guatemala he pursued a higher education earning him a bachelor’s degree where he then went on to become a primary school teacher at the school where his stepfather, Pedro Antonio, was the school director.
Shortly thereafter he met and married Marta Julia Pineda in Guatemala City, Guatemala and had their first child Edgar Rolando in 1965. In 1967 Marco immigrated to the United States along with his wife and first born son. He later went on to have two more children, Marco Jr and Otilia Virginia. Marco was the most loving husband of the late Marta Pineda; loving father of Virginia, Marco Jr. and Edgar; adoring grandfather; dear son of the late Alfredo Pineda & Virginia Suarez; dear step-son of Pedro Antonio Aguirre; beloved brother to Miryam, Sheny, and late sister Dina; unforgettable uncle; caring cousin; and fond friend of many.

He was also an avid fan of music and dancing his way across a dance floor; a dance partner within reach. Marco also had a knack for the arts and creativity which was often expressed through drawings, pairings, wood carvings or his resourcefulness to solve a complex problem. Most of all, Marco, will always be remembered for having a big heart, loving life, and loving deeply.
