Margaret Mary Poteracki

Born on March 22, 1931, Marge lived in Chicago, IL for most of her life.

Marge dedicated herself to serving others as a volunteer at Resurrection Hospital in Chicago for over 22 years. She married her sweetheart, Donald Poteracki on June 17, 1954. She was the daughter, niece, sister, wife, and Aunt to firefighters of Chicago and was very proud to share this information with everyone. She was the historian of the family and shared as many stories as possible about her Irish uncles and cousins. Marge was passionate about travel. She enjoyed many trips abroad and throughout the US to see the world firsthand.

Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Poteracki, parents, Leo Burke, and Martha Burke nee Ness, her brothers and sisters-in-law, Donald (Emma) and Patrick (Jeanette), her niece Mary Elizabeth Burke and Nephew, Michael Burke. She will be remembered by many nieces and nephews, Timothy Burke, Sharon (Ray) Bock, Mary (Michael) Kelly, Susan (Richard) Haff, Nancy Burke, Patrick (Jennifer) Burke, Christopher (Judy) Burke, Meghan (Thomas) Niego.

Interment is private at St. Adalbert Catholic Cemetery. A Memorial Mass celebrating Margaret’s life will be announced at a later date.
