Maria Florencia Barela, a beloved resident of Chicago, Illinois, passed away on January 4, 2026, at the age of 99. Born on May 15, 1926, Maria lived a long and fulfilling life, cherished by all who knew her.
Visitation was held at Malec & Sons Funeral Home, located at 6000 North Milwaukee Ave, Chicago, IL 60646, on January 9, 2026, from 9:00 am to 11:30 am.
The Funeral Service followed at St. Elizabeth of the Trinity Parish & Church, 6020 W Ardmore Ave, Chicago, IL 60646, commencing at 12:00 pm.
The Committal Service took place at Fairview Memorial Park, 900 N Wolf Rd, Northlake, IL 60164, on the same day.
Maria Florencia Barela will be remembered for her grace and kindness. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
