I would like to express my deepest and sincerest condolences to Nicholas’s family.

I met Nicholas more than ten years ago through Tamas and I began calling him to do electrical work for residents in the building. Over time, he became much more than the electrician I relied on. He became a friend.

Nicholas was always positive, friendly. He showed up with a smile, and a genuine warmth.

While I did not know Nicholas’s family personally, I knew him through the many years he spent coming into the building, through conversations, shared
moments, and stories .That was enough to know the kind of person he was.

He will be truly missed, not only for the work he did, but for the kindness and warmth he brought with him every time he walked through the door.

Rest in peace, my friend. I hope the fishing is good wherever you are.

Miss you, your smile and your laugh. Can hardly believe I can't call you to ask a random question or for the name of a guy to help me or one of my clients with a project. Rest peacefully, we will meet again someday.

Our Heart Condolences to Morican Family. Passing of Nick has Stunned us & in denial emotionally drained. Bhanshali family knows Nick since he was in high school with my Brother Pankaj . Nick always had smile & shine on his face that what he always shared when he showed up at our family home. Nick really stood up when our family home burned down in fire Nick stood like a older brother even though he was baby brother to our family. Memories for nick are going to live with us for ever since he re-built the house ground up . Nick your presence is felt in our Heart for ever love you brother ❤️

I am so truly sorry to hear of Nick's passing. He was an incredibly positive person and we spoke often about Cancun and his other travel adventures in the locker room at Lifetime as we were both early morning members. I am glad I got the chance to meet him and he will certainly  be very missed.

I can’t believe you gone  💔💔💔 I never meet no one like you in my life . You are the best I ever meet ❤️❤️❤️. I will miss you more than u can imagine  ❤️❤️❤️. We done a lot together , traveling , construction , business trips , doctors visits , diners, concerts, spa and much more . You always hold my hand  and calm me down when I have bad moments , people around us think that we have relationships, but only u and i know that we was best friends who respect and love each other like brother and sister . You never come with empty hands to my house , fish that u catch and smoke - was best smoked fish I ever eat in my life.  I cry  😭 😭😭😭😭 every day for u from January 7 . I have no words and I just can’t believe it that he’s gone so soon. I’m so heartbroken for the whole family 💔. My condolences.

I am heartbroken by the loss of my best friend. He was my lifelong friend, my confidant, my ride-or-die, my go-to person. This loss is devastating, unreal, unbelievable, and truly unthinkable. At just 50 years old, he was taken far too soon.

He will be deeply missed, and there will forever be a hole in my heart, as well as in the hearts of everyone who knew and loved him. My deepest condolences go out to his family and friends. I pray that you find strength, comfort, and peace during this incredibly difficult time.

This morning, as I watched the sunrise, it was so beautiful—and I thought of him. He looked at every sunrise with gratitude, thankful for one more day of life. It reminded me how easy it is for us to take each day for granted, simply being above ground.

My love goes out to him and his family. I send my sincerest sympathy, and I find comfort knowing he is now in God’s hands.

Whenever Nick stopped by, the first thing he would do was greet our pups. Dogs are a reliable  barometer. I know from how ours respond to anyone, how I'll feel about them. When  Nick walked in the door, our dogs would  get all excited..  With tails wagging, they greeted him and smothered him with doggy smooches. Nick loved it . Quite often, he would pick up one of our dogs, hold it in close, reach for his phone, and take a selfie. We all know what an exceptional person Nick was. To know Nick was to love Nick. He was just that guy. Even our dogs thought so.

I’m flabbergasted to hear about Nick. He was an outstanding neighbor and did a lot of electrical work for me. I had a Harley, he had a different type of bike. He also had a fast car.  He loved speed and he loved life.

To the Mociran family, it is with a heavy heart that we write this message and our thoughts and prayers are with you.

For all of us, this heartbreaking news struct out of nowhere and it is still hard to accept that this is real. 

Nicu will always be remembered to us as person full of laughter, energy, integrity, and genuineness and would light up any room he would enter. 

We shared many adventures together from fishing, camping, and traveling and one trait that always stood out was how inviting his company and presence were. He was an excellent story teller and would share stories from his adventures and experiences making it feel as if you were right there with him and would always know how to make us laugh. 

He took great pride in everything he did but most importantly, he was a family man and would always share how truly proud he was of his two sons and what their futures will hold.  

He stood out in his own way, stayed true to himself, and made a positive impact no matter where he went which can never be replicated. These are memories that can never be taken away from us and his company will be missed.

I came to know Nick through Lifetime and Alpha classes.  He was a special guy who always made you feel welcome and shared his love of life.  It was a pleasure knowing him and I will miss him for his kindness and positive energy. My deepest condolences to his family and friends.

My sincere condolences to the family.

 I am grief stricken, in a state of shock, stunned. and in denial.  Emotionally devastated, I wander about like a wet-eyed zombie unable to come to grips with the tragic and unexpected loss of a  close friend.  He was a very special person, a great guy, and an extraordinary friend.  He would help me with things around the house, but would never accept payment.  He said my friendship was payment. He treasured my friendship as I did his.  I appreciated all that he did for me.  I would gift him with something from time to time to show my appreciation.  We genuinely enjoyed each other's company.  He was a busy guy, but we still did things together from time to time, like make salsa or attend the annual Chicago Beer Society picnic.  About once a month, we'd get together over dinner and some beer or wine. Sometimes it was over a meal that we prepared together in his kitchen.  At the end of the evening, we'd say to one another that we looked forward to next time.  Sadly, there will be no next time.  I keep hoping that I'll wake up to discover that I had experienced a bad dream, but, unfortunately, it is all too real.  Life is short and it was entirely too short for my dear close friend.  With his passing, there'll always be a huge void in my life. If only he could hear me now or read what I've written, Nick would know that he will always be missed beyond what words can possibly express.

First and foremost, our thoughts and prayers are with the entire Mociran family - Nick’s love for life and the joy he radiated will be deeply missed!

My earliest memory of Nick goes back to the 1990s, when I was a young boy and knew him as the unofficial “cool older brother” to everyone. Even for us younger kids, he treated us as one of his own. He had the boombox, the Nintendo 64, and a bright red Jeep with the first custom license plate I had ever seen: “NIX JEEP”

Years later, I went on a camping trip with my father and Nick. We spent the time fishing, grilling, talking about life, and sharing jokes and stories. It’s a memory I will never forget. As I got older, we would catch up over music, cars, technology and occasionally swap mom-and-pop restaurant recommendations. Nick was always ready to offer a practical word of advice or encouragement.

His familiar smile and unmistakable laugh lit up every get-together, and when you were hurting, he never hesitated to offer the words and embrace you needed most. Nick enjoyed being that guy — the one you could always count on, whether you needed help or simply wanted his honest thoughts. He never gatekept or held anything back from someone he was helping or mentoring.

This is a great loss for all of us, gone way too soon but, we are fortunate to have so many memories of him — moments we can revisit and cherish always. Nick, you skipped old age (and sickness thankfully) but you left us with the weighty bill of missing you deeply. Not to worry though, friend — rest easy, as you are in God’s care and memory now.

Our deepest condolences to Nik’s family. I was a college student and advisor at Northwestern University in the Evans Scholars program from 2018-2024 , and Nik was our primary facilities manager. I worked with him many times and he was always friendly, helpful, easy to work with, and had the respect of the many students and alumni from the Evans House over the years. It’s hard to imagine someone with his energy has passed on. Sending our very best to all his loved ones from the scholars.

Steve and I are very saddened to hear of Nik's passing. Nik is a neighbor and friend who was kind and helpful and fun. He enjoyed life and was generous with his time. We will miss him greatly.

My deepest condolences to Nick’s family and especially Alexandru and Stephan. I met Nick at lifetime and we became friends sharing common interests. We shared many conversations about you his sons and how proud he was of you.  I apologize that I am out of town and unable to be at the visitation and funeral. My thought are with you .

I’m so sorry for your loss.  Nick made everyone feel very special—he truly had a gift for that. He’ll be greatly missed by so many.
