Nicole Renee Calhoun

Nikki was born on November 25, 1987 to McKinley Calhoun and Laura Bartozek in Park Ridge, IL.

She graduated from Schaumburg High School in 2005. Soon after, she met her partner Theo Richmond. They went on to have 2 children, Devin and McKinley, who became her pride and joy and to whom she was completely devoted.

Nikki lived her life caring for others, naturally leading to a career in healthcare, spending her most cherished moments with family and friends, never missing an opportunity to enjoy a day with her children at family barbecues and events, amusement parks, zoos and arcades. She passed hours on the phone keeping in touch with family. Her children were her entire world, their happiness being her number one goal. She loved listening to music and reading. Her favorite author being Stephen King, whose books she would repeatedly read. Growing up in Hanover Park, Nikki couldn’t spend enough time with her first pet dog, a golden retriever/lab mix named Taylor.

Nikki was predeceased by her father, McKinley Calhoun, whom she treasured dearly.

She is survived by her mother, Laura (Rich) Bartozek, her brother Julius (Amanda) Calhoun, her sister Tenesia “Lacey” Elliott, her partner Ted Richmond, her son Devin Richmond, her daughter McKinley Richmond and numerous loving Aunts, Uncles, and cousins whose lives were greatly enriched by her presence and within whose hearts an unfillable void now exists.

Nikki’s spirit and quirky sense of humor will be missed by all whose lives she touched. She will always be loved and never forgotten.

We will be gathering in her honor at Montclair-Lucania Funeral Home, located at 6901 W. Belmont Ave., Chicago, IL 60634 on September 19th from 10:00am - 2:00pm, a Memorial Service at 11:00am with Pastor Eric Dawson Officiating, and a repast shortly after.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any memorial donations or contributions be made to the ASPCA in honor of Nikki.
