Norman Harris, age 90, beloved husband of Nellie nee Nelson; loving father of Jon Oliver (Susan), Rochelle (Doug Bonney) and Stephanie. Cherished grandfather of Christina ; Tessa and Conrad Bonney; dear uncle of Sue (Don) Gamble; great uncle of Malcolm and Teresa Gamble. Visitation Saturday June 22, 2013 from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm at Drake & Son Funeral Home 5303 N. Western Ave. Chicago. Interment to follow at Rosehill Cemetery.
He worked as the Art Director of the Promotion Department for the Sun Times (and previously Daily News as well) for 34 years, until his retirement in 1995. Prior to that he was the Associate Art Director at Playboy Magazine and Art Director at Burton Brown (where he met my mom). After his service in the army, he got his BS at the Art Institute of Chicago and MS at Illinois Institute of Technology.
