Born on October 29, 1942, in Norway, Michigan, to Adolph and Emma Melelli, Patricia lived a life defined by strength, adventure, and devotion to her loved ones. She grew up in Loretto, Michigan, and graduated from Vulcan High School in 1960. In her twenties, she moved to Chicago, Illinois, where she met the love of her life, Martin “Marty” Milanowski, with whom she shared many happy years and countless memories.
Patricia is survived by her beloved children Nicole Milanowski and Marc (Lindsey) Milanowski and her sister-in-law Mary Lee Melelli and two nieces, Michelle and Danielle. She was especially proud to be “Nonna” to Molly (15), Jane (13), and Chase (9) Milanowski, who brought her immense pride and joy. She was preceded in death by her husband, Martin (Marty) Milanowski; her parents, Adolph and Emma Melelli; and her brother, Ronald (Ronnie) Melelli.
Throughout her life, Patricia poured her energy into supporting her children’s interests. She coached countless volleyball teams, cheered at basketball and baseball games, and helped organize the school’s largest annual fundraisers for many years. When not dedicating herself to her children’s activities, Patricia loved cooking, traveling throughout the Caribbean and Mexico, and following the NFL, especially her beloved Packers, with great passion during the fall and winter months.
Patricia will be remembered for her vibrant presence, and her candid, direct style of communication that endeared her to so many.
A private memorial service will be held in Chicago to honor and celebrate Patricia’s life. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Greater Chicago Food Depository or light a Church votive candle in her honor.
Though she is gone, her love and legacy will live on forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
