Peggy Laverne Thomas

Peggy was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Wendell Thomas, and her two sons, Craig and Phillip Houston. She leaves a cherished legacy through her five surviving children: Herbert (Gardine) Houston, Herbette Thomas, Michael Houston, Christine Rowell, and Robert (Priscilla) Houston. She is also lovingly remembered by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom she touched with warmth and kindness.

Peggy spent much of her career as the beloved cook at Gordon Tech High School, where her meals nourished countless students and staff over the years. Her kitchen was a place of comfort and joy, and she was known for her warmth and dedication to the community she served. After many years of hard work, she retired but remained a pillar of strength and love for her family and friends.

A woman of grace, strength, and compassion, Peggy will be deeply missed by all fortunate enough to know her. Her love for her family and friends was unwavering, and her memory will be treasured forever in the hearts of those she left behind.

A private family service will honor her life and celebrate her journey.
