Raven Simone Byerly

Raven Simone Byerly, aged 30, of Chicago, Illinois, passed away on July 17th, 2023, in Chicago, Illinois. She was born on August 5, 1992, in Evanston, Illinois, to her loving parents Tracy (Byerly) Wright and Myron "Ricky" Adams, Jr. Raven's departure leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Raven was a kind-hearted, funny, creative, passionate, and intelligent individual with an exuberant personality that lit up every room she entered. Her zest for life was expressed through her vibrant sense of style, with colorful flair adorning both her clothes and her hair, a reflection of the vivid soul she possessed.

Throughout her life, Raven nurtured a deep love for her hobbies of singing, music and animals. Music was the rhythm of her soul, and her melodic voice touched the hearts of all who had the privilege of hearing her sing. She found solace and immense joy when caring for animals, forming unbreakable bonds with these creatures. For those who knew her well, it was evident that she held a special affection for animals, and her compassion and care extended to all living beings. These hobbies were not mere pastimes but a reflection of her truest self. They brought her immense happiness and provided a canvas for her to express her creativity and boundless compassion for others.

Raven Simone Byerly will forever be remembered for her compassionate nature, infectious laughter, and unwavering love for music and animals. Her vibrant spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all those who knew and loved her. May she rest in eternal peace, and may her legacy inspire kindness, creativity, and love for both people and animals alike.

She leaves behind memories and a legacy of love that will be forever cherished by her family. Raven will be dearly missed by her mother, Tracy Wright; father, Myron "Ricky" Adams, Jr.; stepfather, Mark Wright; siblings, Angelo Bennett, Anissa Valdes, Xavier Teniente, and Logan Wright. She also leaves behind her grandparents, Joy (Dennis "Mike") Howard, Shawn Williamson, Myron (Michelle) Adams, Sr., and Reverend Edward & Donna Wright, along with her aunts, Kacia (Randall) Muhammad, Courtney Bradshaw, Tinonda Bradshaw, Deborah (Charles) Hendrix, Catherine (Markell) Knox, Darrel (David) Snyder. Uncles, Daniel (Florina) Byerly, Rick (Jamie) Erickson, Joseph (Marie) Erickson, Ivan (Lourdes) Coleman, Akiluniko “Niko” (Marcela “Mari”) Anderson. Cousins and a host of extended relatives and friends.

A celebration of life service to honor and remember Raven Simone Byerly will be held on Saturday, July 29th, from 2 pm to 6 pm at Drake & Sons Funeral Home, located at 5303 North Western Avenue, Chicago, Illinois. There will be a prayer/remembrance service at 4:00 pm. All those whose lives were touched by Raven are welcome to attend and pay their respects.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that contributions be made to National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI.org) or Best Friends Animal Society (BestFriends.Org) in honor of her memory. These donations will support the important causes of mental health awareness and love for animals.
