Bob, one of my most important long time friends, my "Daddy Winkie", will remain a fixture in my heart until the day I am called away.  I will miss him deeply and will always cherish the beautiful times I spent with him, Maryellen and their children. Bob was a great friend of both Barbara and I from high school and on. We will miss him.

He will always be "Mr. Winkelman" to me. He was so sweet to us as kids and I spent many a day playing over at Jen's house and he was always there for us if we needed anything. Such a gracious and wonderful man. He will be dearly missed. Our family sends much love to all of you during this difficult time. I know  my father was there to meet and greet him in heaven. God Bless cousin Bob and his family. I didn't know him well, and only remember seeing him a few times, mostly in my childhood. He was always spoken of kindly though, and with the highest regard. Bob and his family will be in my prayers. Peace.

Bob was my father's dearest childhood friend.  Over the years Bob served my dad as an important sounding board and a source of support as both men grew from childhood, through teens, their early careers, and into the building of their families.  My dad (Art) and Bob regularly corresponded over years and shared their life's important moments in written letters.  Bob saved those letters written by my dad and recently returned them for our family to read.  I learned more about my dad from those letters written to Bob than I could have ever known.  Dad's comfort and sharing his thoughts and feelings with Bob is testament to their enduring friendship.  For me, I will always remember Bob as the man who saved my father's written words from the 1960s and 1970s and gave those words back to us at a time when they would truly matter to us as a family.  Thank you Bob.  This simple act of returning those letters means more to me, Art's son, than you ever knew and your name will live with me as the man who gave me a window into my father's earlier life when I was too young to understand.  Bless you.
